DEFINING REGIONS on SURFACE or SOLID MODELS
The geometry based
loads and boundary conditions in FEMAP v5.0 make it easy to apply loads
and boundary conditions to points, edges, or
faces of solid
or surface models. But what if you really want the load confined to a smaller,
more specific region? FEMAP v5.0 allows you to "imprint" any closed
shape onto a surface or face of a solid model. This updates the underlying
geometry, creating new faces where loads and boundary conditions can be applied.
Example: Consider the following ACIS solid. On the top of the piston, we
want to apply a heat generation load in an elliptical shape.

there are new surfaces and edges in the model, any automatic mesh
