2.6 Dongle Users
PROBLEM:
I am a dongle-only SINDA/G user, but vs 2.6 keeps asking me to specify the license server system or specify the license file. What’s with that?
SOLUTION:
This is not actually a license failure, but rather the attempt of SINDA/G to find a flex license, be it real or dummy (for dongle users). If you were to hit cancel, the model would continue on and run as needed. We overhauled our FlexNET security in version 2.6, and the new version does not see the old version 2.5 dummy flex license file as proper. Unfortunately, license files are never replaced during an upgrade (to automatically do so could cause a legitimate license file to be overwritten), so the new dummy license was not written over the old one.
Luckily the solution is easy. Please replace the license.dat file in your SINDAG directory with the one below.
The following is the text of the license.dat file.

2.6 FlexNET License Users
Network Analysis, Inc. has changed its FlexNET licensing scheme (notice now that it is refered to as FlexNET rather than FLEXlm).
If you have floating licenses, temporary licenses, SINDA/G for Patran licenses, or node-locked FLEXlm licenses, please make sure you have received and installed the new FlexNETlicense before you install SINDA/G 2.6. The new license will say "INCREMENT" rather than "FEATURE" at the start of each new product line.
Floating licenses will also require the new license manager file (lmgrd.exe) and license daemon file (SINDAG.exe), both of which can be found on the SINDA/G 2.6 CD under the misc\flexlm directory.
If you have not recieved your SINDA/G 2.6 license, please email sandy@sinda.com with your information. This does not affect dongle key users.
We apologize for this inconvenience. If you have any further problems, please contact us.
